Privacy
Your data
Home Front is private. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It does not sell or share data.
The login
- The site uses one shared password. There are no user accounts, names or email addresses.
- After you log in, your browser keeps a signed session cookie for up to one year. Scripts on the page cannot read it.
- Log out removes the cookie from that device. The site owner can log out all devices at one time.
What is stored in your browser
- Your choice of units (°F or °C) and light or dark mode.
- The session cookie from the login.
To remove them, log out and delete the site data for this website in your browser settings.
The weather data
- The readings of one home weather station: temperature, humidity, wind, pressure, rain, sun, UV and lightning.
- The station location (latitude, longitude and elevation) is never saved or shown.
- The data is kept as files in a private code repository and on the website host. Only people with the password can open it.
Services that the site uses
- WeatherFlow: the source of the station readings and the forecast.
- GitHub: keeps the code and the data, and runs the hourly job.
- Cloudflare Pages: hosts the site and checks the login.
Each service has its own privacy terms.
